GeoSnippits To Be On FINDME The Movie Special Edition DVD

I was contacted today by Joe Jestus who happens to be the Director of Marketing & Brand Development for Trost Moving Pictures. These are the very cool people who have created the award winning geocaching based film FIND ME.

Joe asked if I would be interested in having my GeoSnippits Introduction to Geocaching videos on their up coming Special Edition DVD. They are currently featured on the website for FIND ME in their Geocaching 101 section.

Hmmm, let me think about this......... that would be a YES Joe!

I am so geeked. Apparently there is a whole lot of extra goodness coming to the Special Edition DVD and to be a part of such an award winning filming production is just too awesome for words. More details are coming and I will let you know the second I find out. In the mean time they are constantly having new contests and other cool things going on all the time. GeoSnippits: Beginning Season Two

Holy cow, has it really been an entire year since the very first GeoSnippits Video?

Yeppers.

On September 12, 2008 I put out my first You Tube video entitled HeadHardHat's Introduction to Geocaching. It was 4:47 minutes long and was basically a slide show with a music background and some tid bits of information. It's still one of my more popular videos. I find it a bit humorous because at the time there were only about 700,000 geocaches compared to the 897,380 today.

Since that first endeavour, GeoSnippits has grown into a full blown video show. It is viewed by people all over the world. In season one there are 36 video episodes ranging from the very introduction to Geocaching to it's more elaborate applications and techniques. There are how to episodes for making your own geocaches and how to and how NOT to hide them. You have met people who are heavily involved with Geocaching through their show suggestions and also interviews like the Cache-A-Maniacs.

GeoSnippits is and has been featured on websites like Trimble Outdoors Geocache Navigator and the very cool indy film FIND ME.

Starting September 22nd GeoSnippits will be a weekly segment featured on Michigan Magazine TV (RFDTV Network) which is shown four times a week in all 50 US States.

So look how far we have come in one short year. What amazing stories, friends and adventures wait for us in Season Two and the years to follow? All I can say is thank you for being a part of this fun filled ride and please continue to hang onto the bar. The best is yet to come!!

GeoSnippits Videos Mentioned On FindMe Movie Insider

It was announced on Twitter earlier in the week that our very own GeoSnippits videos are going to be featured on Michigan Magazine TV coming soon. Well great news travels fast and The TMP Insider helped spread the news even further. TMP (Trost Moving Pictures) are the makers of the geocaching thriller movie "Find Me".

GeoSnippits happens to be featured on their Geocaching 101 section of the films web page to help viewers of Find Me better understand what geocaching is and to help entice everyone to give geocaching a try.

A Really Sweet Article About Little Ole Me

How did that country singer put it? It's all about me, all about I, all about number one....

Well as much as I like blogging, twittering and gabbing with everybody about some of my accomplishments in the geocaching universe. I REALLY enjoy giving helpful information out to the world and hopefully make geocaching easier for those who would like it. That's the whole reason I started GeoSnippits.

I must be doing something right because in just a few months I have over 26 thousand views on the You Tube videos. My blogs and the GeoSnippits website is seen literally all around the planet. I am featured on the Find Me The Movie and Trimble Outdoors Geocache Navigator websites and I am talking to Barry Stutesman from Michigan Magazine TV, among other interesting upcoming things. Who knew?

But I digress, enough about me. Let's talk about... me.

Find Me The Movie Coming Out May 30th, 2009

Well with only a week or so away from the Geocaching based movie Find Me coming out. We thought we would direct one section of their website to you.

If you click the Geocaching 101 link in the lower left you will see several GeoSnippits Video Tutorials which we made at the request of the Find Me folks and a few of our regular episodes.

GeoSnippits Videos Featured On Find Me The Movie Website

We are just absolutely ecstatic to have GeoSnippits featured now on the website for the upcoming indy Tracy J. Trost film Find Me. This mystery thriller is based around the activity of geocaching.

We were asked by the film's marketing director Joe Jestus if we could make a three part introduction to geocaching and also use some other existing GeoSnippits videos. The rest is as they say history and you can see the results on their website.

The movie will be coming out May 30th, 2009.

GeoSnippits - The Introduction to Geocaching

I had been wanting to do an Introduction to Geocaching video for a long time now. The issue of when to actually do it was in direct correlation of how many suggestions we were getting from our GeoSnippits viewers. Which turned out to be more than plenty. So the episode storyboard sat on the shelf, until now.

Now I don't want people to think I make it a habit to put some suggestions to the front of the line but when a movie director of marketing asks to have an episode done..... I can be encouraged to do some shuffling. Yep the people of the up coming geocaching based movie FIND ME asked if we could make a small series of Geosnippits episodes so people who do not know what geocaching is will have enough information to understand the movie. So that is just what we did.

It's basically a 15 minute tutorial broken into three five minute episodes. Combined, all three episodes revolve around two geocaching hunts sprinkled with valuable nuggets of information throughout. When finished you will have a well rounded understanding of what geocaching is all about without being overwhelmed with too much lingo and dry facts.

Learn where geocaching began and how it works. Find your coordinates on geocaching.com then it's off to our first find of the day with the help of Miss Geoness.
